Second Amendment
I strongly support the constitutional right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms and oppose unnecessary restrictions on lawful ownership and self-defense.
Working positions, stated plainly.
These are my current views, not a finished legislative agenda. Where I have not settled on the exact policy, I will say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Life & Abortion
I am personally opposed to abortion and do not support taxpayer funding for elective abortion. I support exceptions for grave medical circumstances involving the life of the mother or a pregnancy that cannot result in a surviving child. I am still working through the exact policy I would support in cases such as rape.
Energy
I support a much larger role for nuclear power in Virginia's long-term energy strategy and believe it deserves serious investment alongside other reliable energy sources.
Housing & Zoning
Zoning has a legitimate purpose, but rules should leave reasonable room for homeowners and small businesses. A resident who can responsibly operate a business from home should generally have that opportunity, subject to reasonable neighborhood protections.
Election Law
Voting should be limited to eligible U.S. citizens who are registered to vote, and I support requiring identification when casting a ballot.
Cannabis
I support legal, regulated adult-use marijuana sales in Virginia, with a clear legal marketplace and taxation.
Transportation
Virginia should provide reliable, clean, useful public transportation and improve walkability where it makes sense, without treating driving as something government should discourage or eliminate.
Immigration
I support legal immigration and recognize the role immigrants have played in America. I oppose illegal immigration and do not believe Virginia should obstruct lawful federal immigration enforcement.
Safety Net & Welfare
A functioning society needs a safety net, but programs should be structured to limit fraud, long-term dependency, and unnecessary reliance while continuing to help people facing genuine hardship.
Limited Government
Government should do fewer things, do necessary things well, and be cautious about replacing individual, family, community, and private-sector decisions with state control.
